How to Approach and Meet PeopleEasy Ways to Ask Someone Out
Don't just stand there when you spot someone who catches your eye! Ask them out. Here are some hassle-free suggestions on how to approach people.
At church: You’ll be that much more compatible with your partner if you two share the same faith. The best way to meet people at church is through activities. Today many churches even have a singles ministry. Check out the church bulletin or contact the individual in charge of singles activities when you go to worship.
At the supermarket: We've all got to eat, right? Even folks that don't cook have to get items from time to time. Don't just throw the things you need in a cart and bolt. Take time to shop at a leisurely pace and study the other shoppers. Is there someone pushing a cart with food in it that suggests the single life?
At a flea market: Flea markets attract folks that collect things. The good news is that you're likely to bump into someone you wouldn't have had an occasion to meet otherwise. Check out potential singles viewing things like lunchboxes, dishes, and old toys.
At sporting events: Find someone that shares your interest in professional sports. Choose event nights that are geared toward singles. Avoid "family night" games, as not as many singles will be in attendance. Take a look around. Is there a group of guys or girls taking in the game? There is a good chance that one of them may be single. Make eye contact and smile.
At the bookstore: Instead of heading right for the usual section of your interest, take time to browse the entire store. Lots of interesting people pop in and out of the bookstore. If you don’t see someone right away, have a seat in one of the couches and people watch.
